This Grapefruit Margarita will win your heart (and taste buds)! National Margarita Day was last Thursday and I celebrated with a Jalapeno Margarita at a local Mexican restaurant here in Reno. This inspired me to create this wonderful, not-sweet, grapefruit margarita!
If I’m being honest, I love margaritas, as long as the tequila is clear (thanks, Marissa!) and it won’t give me a hangover (IE minimal sugar). This Grapefruit Marg is both of those, so don’t be shy.
I’ve also totally been loving this citrus season… I am quite displeased when I buy cuties or other citrus and it has no flavor but it’s been really good this year! You know what that means… Marg’s in every flavor – lime, lemon, and tangerine! HAHA! Just kidding, kinda.
In fact I propose that we make Margarita Day into Margarita Month š Anyways, you get the point that I love margaritas. So with that I leave you with one of my favorites – CHEERS!
Grapefruit Margarita - refreshing & delicious! Refined sugar free = no morning headache
- 1/2 cup agave tequila [4 oz]
- 1 grapefruit, juiced
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 tsp agave nectar
- 2 tbsp orange liqueur [I used Grand Marnier]
-
Fill a shaker with ice. Add tequila, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, agave, orange liqueur and shake well
-
Strain into two cups filled with ice & a salted rim. Garnish, serve immediately and enjoy!

Along with G&Ts, the marg is pretty much the only time I’ll drink the hard stuff. Looking forward to a taste when the warm weather returns!
