I’ve been wanting a juicer for a while – normally I’m a smoothie person but sometimes a juice is in order (or a wellness shot with spirulina). I have always talked myself out of buying one because I already have a vitamix (they are similar, right?). BUT, our good friends came to visit and brought us a juicer (she’s probably heard me talk about one for a while now)!
I am so so excited! There are so many juices I want to share with you all – don’t worry, they will NOT be full of sugar & fruit! First, since it’s flu season, I thought this wellness shot would be beneficial to you and a good way to kick off my juice recipe ‘series’. I’ll post one or two juice recipes a week! Bottoms up – enjoy this wellness shot with spirulina!
Wellness shot with fresh ginger, fresh tumeric, lemon and spirulina!
- 2 lemons
- 2.5 inches fresh turmeric
- 3 inches fresh ginger
- 1 tsp spirulina

Juice lemons, turmeric and ginger in a juicer.

Combine juice and spirulina in a drink or protein shaker, shake well.

Pour into serving glasses, drink immediately & enjoy!
This shot is sour - if you're looking to sweeten it, add an apple to the juicer or honey to the shaker!
If you don't have a juicer, add 1/2 cup water, blend and use a mesh cloth to strain
